EIA - Environmental Impact Assessmentent
Depending on the significance of the presumed impact, the compulsory assessment of the activity or the screening is carried out.
Screening – begins with the submission of the preliminary environmental
study and ends by issuing the decision in which it is decided whether the
activity will proceed with an EIS. In case the activity will not proceed with
an EIS, the permission process follows under the special regulations. In
case an EIS is needed the activity will be assessed following the EIA process
as at the compulsory evaluation determining the scoping and elaboration of the final record.
The compulsory assessment comprises the following steps:
1. Submission of the preliminary environmental study
2. Determination on scope of work and timetable (Scoping)
3. Preparation of the environmental impact statement (EIS)
4. Public hearing of the environmental impact statement
5. Elaboration of the expert review
6. Elaboration of the final record
Process of elabortion of EIA study includes:
- elaboration EIA/SEA (Preliminary Environmental Study & Environmental Impact Statement)
- communication and consultation with municipality, public administration, state administration, local authorities and other partners in EIA process
- expert cooperation for elaboration of support studies
- coordination of public hearing of the environmental impact statement
